U.S.A. Rosaceae Physocarpus opulifoíius (L.) Maxim, det. M. Nee, 2015 WISCONSIN, Richland Co., Neptune Cemetery, N of junction of Hwy. 58 and Jaquish Hollow Road. 43°22’10”N, 90°15’55”W. alt. 250 m. T 10 N; R 2 E; NEVSSWV4 sect. 4. Fringe of woods at edge of the small country cemetery on narrow point above surrounding Cambrian sandstone cliffs. Prunus serótina, Juglans nigra, Acer negundo, Zanthoxylum americanum, Lonicera maackii. Shrub 2.5 m. tall, with several stems (to 3 cm. in diameter) with widely arching stems and young erect ones in a clump, undoubtedly spontaneous. Bark papery-peeling, reddish brown and light tan.
