Planted around former farmstead, with Picea glauca, Acer
saccharinum, Acer saccharum and a large clone of
Hemerocallis all that remains of former plantings. Ridgetop,
surrounded by former crop fields, now being restored to
prairie.
Tree 1.05 m. in diameter; herbarium vouchers from top of
canopy; cones from ground (only this single tree of this
species here). Voucher for wood specimen, MADw; wood
specimen from an upper branch.
