ILLINOIS: UNION COUNTY: 37° 28’ 54.4” N. Lat.
089° 10’ 55.2” W. Long. East side of US Route 51,
about 1.4 miles north of Anna. Conspicuous quarried -
blasted roadcut above current road. Partly cleared
west-facing outcrop, stratified silica.
Dry shrubland - barrens, very disturbed; with Aster
turbinellus, Clitoria mariana, Solidago spp., Rhus
copallinum, Euphorbia corollata, Panicum
acuminatum, Galactia regularis. Rather common bushy
branched perennial 0.5 meter tall, flowers pink-purple,
leaf undersides pale-glaucous.
