Epiphyte; leaves in subascending rosette, green suffused with purple near sheath area on upper surface and along leaf margin and at leaf tip; scape erect, bracts foliaceous, green becoming maroon toward tips especially on upper surface, primary bracts and floral bracts cjreen becoming deep red toward margins; inflorescence gelatinous.
