BASTROP CO.: local on base, seenfingly absent from sandy
soils but locally common on the clayey soils at this site,
around old clay (gravel?) pits in large opening in post oak
woodland on gently rolling landscape underlain by Eocene
sediments of the Calvert Bluff Formation, on soils mapped
as deep, well drained, slightly acid loam (Crockett Series,
Uderric Paleustalfs) with clay subsoils, along Upper Cut
Road ca. 0.3-0.4 miles SW of its jet. with Scott Falls Road,
ca. 2.9 airmiles S of jet. US Rt. 290 and F. M. 696 at Butler,
at N30°16.128’, W097°18.527\ Camp Swift Training
Center (Texas Army National Guard). Elgin East
Quadrangle. Elev. 460-470 ft.
Associates included Agalinis strictifolia, Bothriochloa laguroides,
Bouteloua rigidiseta, Dyschoriste linearis, Evax veraa, Evolvulus
sericeus, Gaillardia suavis, Gutierrezia texana, Hedeoma drummondii,
Krameria lanceolata, Liatris mucronata, Lindheimera texana, Nassella
leucotricha, Prosopis glandulosa, Rudbeckia hirta, Ruellia nudiflora,
Sporobolus pyramidatus, Stenaria nigricans, Tridens congestus.
