Habitat
Sandstone, metamorphic and quartzite rock outcrops with associated marsh, damp flushes and grassland, and some cut-over mixed deciduous woodland by stream and cerrado.

Description
Woody climber to 2m. Leaves very dark green above, pale beneath with chestnut hairs. Sepals chestnut with deep red glands. Petals white tinged pink. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
