Hedysarum alpinum L. subsp. americanum
(Michx.) Fedtch.
JUNEAU ICEFIELD: Approximately 4 miles north-
west of Camp 26 (FGER) on Marble Mountain Nuna-
tak. Elevation approximately 5,180' on annual
snowmelt drainage just above watermelt pond;
growing from dry moss mat. Pm low grade
metamorphics and metasediments. On moderately
steep toe slope with a south-southwest aspect.
Occasional, with Castillejo, únalaschcensis>
Epilobium lati folia, Salix sp. (low, spread-
ing), and Gentiana propinqua. Flower purple;
plants strongly rhiz.
