Elevation about 2900 feet. Metamorphic bedrock, generally gneiss and schist; slope in humus and sandy loam. Mesic upland cove forest, Quercus, Halesia, Rhododendron maximum, Tsuga canadensis, Pinus strobus, Magnolia fraseri.
