From a colony 2 m. x 1 m. on top & side of
road bank slope. Stipes very dark
brown-black glossy (below indumentum), erect
Rachis & pinna-rachis black, glossy. Lamina
dark green & glossy adaxially, bluer green &
matt abaxially, very coriaceous. Apices of
many fronds scorched in the sun. Plants
mixed on Scleria & under a small Curatella
americana free.
Also seen as taller plants (to 1 m.) in Mata
margin 2 km. away nr. Santa Rosa,
