Boyaca: Mun. Aquitania, road Sogamoso-Pajarito-Yopal, 10.8 km ESE
of La Toquilla, 15.9 km above Corinto, 2610 m. 5°29’ N, 72°44' W.
Along roadside and in montane forest, growing associated with
Chusquea aff. purdieana; all vegetative. Culms erect at first, then
arching, clambering and hanging, to 0.9 cm in diameter, to 3 m long.
Branching infravaginai; central bud rounded, subsidiary buds numerous;
central branch often developing. Culm leaves purplish, usually
surpassing the next node a little; blade small, erect; sheath apex
expanded, the whole sheath maculate; girdle well developed, pubescent.
Treated with 70% EtOH.
