Pike County line, Illinois River floodplain. Elevation
433 feet. Meredosia 7.5 min. quadrangle. Sandy-loam,
moist west-facing slope.
BOTANICAL
Degraded floodplain forest. Margin of cropland, edge of
former railroad bed-now leveled- at north side of site;
with Festuca, Barbarea, Apocynum. Petals purple,
exserted anthers pale orange; rather common shrub 4-5
feet tall.
