well-drained, over St. Peters Sandstone.
Sand prairie remnant on levels above steep sandstone
bluffs, with Poa compressa, Leptoloma,
Dichanthelium, Sporobolus, Liatris, Selaginella
rupestris, Opuntia humifusa’, bluffs with Thuja
occidentalis. Local, infrequent perennial subshrub to
0.5 meter tall, foliage silvery-gray-green, most fruit
fallen or aborted.
