Flora of the Paumonek Wetland, Long Island Aralia elata (Miq.) Seem. NEW YORK, SUFFOLK CO.: Huntington Station, in the Paumonek Wetland, west of Walt Whitman High School, approx. 3 m south of Jericho Turnpike. In a very disturbed site with dumped soil containing broken bricks. Large shrub to 7.62 m with several stems. Many flying insects on the flowers. In an Oak-Hickory Mesic Woodland with Alliaria petiolata, Rosa multiflora, Lindera benzoin, Juglans nigra, Berberis thunbergii, Celastrus orbiculatus, and Maianthemum racemosum. Matthew C.
