Description
Gregarious. Pileus 3-9 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, moist, fibrillose to subsquamulose garnet brown (9E8-7) on disc and toward margin where it is often white, or often white with traces of color, with inrolled margin unchanging, with mild odor and taste. Lamellae decurrent, close to subdistant, thick and waxy, yellowish white (3A2), developing pinkish brown stains with age (not from bruising), with striate, often slightly subpruinose at apex, white with pinkish brown stains especially toward the base, with interior solid, white, unchanging, with white basal mycelium. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
