19 in Banner Co.] Within area bounded by points at 41.68842°N,
103.58657°W (±14 ft), 41.70093°N, 103.59728°W (±12 ft), and
41.70288°N, 103.57481 °W (±15 ft; all determined by GPS; datum =
WGS 84). Elevation 4100-4420 ft.
Weedy grasslands and riparian areas and tall, primarily N and S-
facing cliffs of erodable, non-calcareous, sedimentary rocks of
Tertiary age above unnamed tributary to Gering Canal. Secondary
riparian forest with Acer negundo, Celtis occidentalis, Juniperus
scopulorum, Salix amygdaloides and scattered large Populus
deltoides along creek; highly disturbed grasslands largely
dominated by non-native species on lower slopes; Achnathervm
hymenoides-Elymus lanceolatus-Hesperostipa comata mixed-grass
prairie with scattered Artemisia spp. and Rhus trilobata on upper
slopes; scattered Juniperus scopulorum and Pinus ponderosa on
ridgetops and in ravines, with more mesic, N-facing ravines
becoming rather densely wooded.
Common on upper slopes.
