Unshaded grassy roadside, on limestone, rolling rangeland,
pastured, with scattered trees. With Gaillardiapulchella,
Engelmannia perestinia, Hymenopappus tenuifolius,
Ratibida columnifera, Krameria lanceolata.
Shrubs 1.2 m. tall. Fruit old but most bright red-orange.
