Vaccinium ovatum Pursh
ERICACEAE
Shrub 5 ft tall, abundant, fruit purple-black, often waxy.
At the edge of a logged area of an open forest, in clay-
loam soil (Shinglemill-Gibney complex, 2 to 9 percent
slopes; fine, mixed, (semi)active, isomesic Aquic to
Typic Hapludults). With Arctostaphylos Columbiana,
Cytisus scoparius, Gaultheria shallon, Lithocarpus
densiflorus, Myrica californica, Pinus contorta, P.
muricata, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Pteridium aquilinum,
Rhododendron macrophyllum and Sequoia
sempervirens. At the N. side of the intersection of
Little River Airport Road & Albion Little River Road,
around 0.4mi NE of the Mendocino County Airport &
about 3. lmi NE of the intersection of Albion Little
River Road and Rt. 1 (Shoreline Highway). Mendocino
