    Vaccinium darrowii Camp

In this region of Florida, the basic diploids
V. darrowi and V. elliottii make distributional contact
and, in certain places,, I have found them growing
close together« There are also in these same places
plants which clearly are hybrids and segregates from
such crosses. Thus having made genetic contact, the
segregates can radiate into various habitats and
contribute genes to both basic populations* thereby
enriching their genetic variability* I would take this
plant to be basically darrowi. but one which has acquired
a few genes of elliottii.
