Unable to determine the precise location of Rio Trombetas "upriver from Oriximiná," since the mouth of Rio Trombetas is located in Oriximiná (thus entire river is "upriver" from Oriximiná); instead georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Rio Trombetas in município Oriximiná, Pará. Referred to map provided by "Ilustrações do Rio Trombetas" from BIT: Banco de Informações e Mapas de Transportes website for location information for Rio Trombetas (http://www2.transportes.gov.br/bit/04-hidro/3-rios-terminais/rios/00-Figuras/trajeto-rio/Rio%20Trombetas.jpg). Using the reference map and Google Maps - Satellite View, located Rio Trombetas, a tributary of Rio Amazonas. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line starting at the mouth of the river (at the confluence of Rio Trombetas and Rio Amazonas) to the approximate source of this river (where two unnamed rivers join to form Rio Trombetas), then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of Rio Trombetas. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint of the river, on the northern shore. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Rio Trombetas, 181345 m.), and measurement error (1 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
