Almeda 1973 Panama: Provincia de Chiriqui: trailside in the Quebafdo Bajo Grande about 2 miles east of Cerro Punta at an elevation of about 6900 feet. Locally abundant 1.2-2.5 m. shrub. Petals pale pinkish to rose. Anthers yellow and their appendages red. Leaves dull dark green above and pale green but shiny beneath.
