Essequibo watershed; Georgetown/Lethem Road, Mount Daniel transect. 04°28'N, 58°47'W. Elev. 100 to 150 m. Mesic forest on sandy soils dominated by Ocotea, Eperua and Lecythidaceae. Small tree, 6 m; stems with thick, brown, tomentose covering; fruits hairy capsules in a globose form.
