Description
Plants .1-.4 m high, in large straggling colonies from rhizomes. Leaves at first covered with a tawny pubescence, later green and shining above. Corolla white sometimes tinged with pink, but the color covered by the coarse golden tawny pubeescence. Calyx segments free almost to the base, leathery at maturity, but not succulent. Fruit capsular, dry. Usually on slopes subject to desiccation, but sometimes in more moist situation.
