cloud forest on steep slopes on
substrate of mixed sandstone and clay
soil. Dwarf forest on exposed ridges
with higher quartzite sand content.

Tree 10 m tall. Newly flushed leaves
suffused reddish. Foliage aromatic.
Flowers light yellow-green.
