Peaty loam over gravelly glacial till; vicinity of seepage
slope; some tufa (calcium carbonate, calcareous sinter)
deposits.
Mesic upland forest near seep, shaded, with Acer
saccharum, Actaea pachypoda, Allium burdickii,
Asarum canadense, Carex grisea, Circaea lutetiana,
Cystopteris bulbifera, Fraxinus quadrangulata,
Leersia virginica, Mitella diphylla, Tilia americana.
Local fern, fronds to 2 feet or more long.
