Gaultheria hispidula (L.) Muhl.
GASPE* PENINSULA: At edge of spruce-fir forest along
an old wood-road near Lake Ste. Anne, ca 60 km west
of Murdochville. Elevation ca 450 m.
Plants prostrate or nearly so and trailing. Ovary of
developing fruits largely inferior, only the summit
exposed between the calyx lobes. Young fruits with an
odor of wintergreen.
