In a shrubby thicket & damp roadside ditch in sandy loam (Coxville fine sandy loam; fine, kaolinitic, thermic Typic Paleaquults). Growing with Baccharis halimifolia, Briza minor, Carex complanata, Dichanthelium dichotomum (?), Eupatorium rotundifolium (?), Krigia sp., Lespedeza cuneata, Liquidambar styraciflua, Lolium perenne, Lonicera japónica, Panicum capillare, Parthenocissus quinquefolio, Pinus taeda, Prunus serótina, Quercus marilandica, Q. nigra, Q. phellos, Q. stellata, Rhus copallinum, Rubus argutus, R. cuneifolius, R. flagellaris, Solidago rugosa, Toxicodendron radicans, Vaccinium stamineum, Verbena brasiliensis (?), & Vitis rotundifolia. To the E side of East Old Wallace Rd., around 250ft NW of the intersection with Rt. 301/501 (Rt. 30 North), & around 0.3mi SW of the South of the Border tourist trap. Dillon Co.
