  • Description

    3-6 m tall treelet; stems and petioles bright red with scattered papillus, light brown indumentum, stipular flaps missing; leaf base with pronounced 1 cm long by 4 mm wide petiolar flaps folded to the abaxial side of leaf, base of major veins dark red; inflorescence both axilliary and terminal with 3-5 branching levels with 40-80 flowers per inflorescence; calyx lips with green dots; flowers globular, 1.5-2 cm wide, magneta when young, light purple when mature, another appendages bright yellow, rounded acting as bellows; largest leaves 15-17 cm long by 8-10 cm wide.
