Dwarf cloud forest.

Description
Tree, height 2m, dbh 3.5cm. Samll number of adventitious roots protrudes from lower 30cm of trunk. Leaves up to 19cm long, 9cm wide. Sap has faint smell of satsumas. Another specimen of Akenwel was growing epiphytically on a Dohng tree. Ak en Wel translates to 'mangrove on the mountain'. Coastal mangroves are called ak or akapah.
