the New York Botanical Garden.
"Japanese bigleaf magnolia" Tree 14 m. tall, 25
cm. in diameter, cultivated in magnolia
collection. Bark gray, more or less smooth but
with prominent lenticels. Leaves green above,
whitened beneath. Fruit bright pinkish red,
becoming darker toward maturity; seeds bright
orange. Voucher for bulk medicinal screening
by Pfizer: 43871a FR (Nee-583); 43871b ST
(Nee-584); 43871c LF+TW (Nee-585). .
