Cooperstown. Alluvial level clay-silt, either original
surface or old dredge spoil; well-drained.
Small remnant upland forest with floodplain forest
elements on ridge of floodplain within cornfields;
Quercus palustris, Q. michauxii, Carya cordiformis,
Vitis aestivalis. Common shrub 2.5-3 m tall in understory
under Q. palustris', fruit dark green, leaf underside pale,
pubescent; pith pale tan.
