[GPS], T.24 N„ R 10 E., NW 1/4 SW1/4 SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sect. 28. West side of IL Route 2, west side of the Rock River, 0.1 - 0.4 mile south of Mud Creek (Mt. Morris) Road. Slopes south of Mud Creek. Elevation ca. 686-738 feet. Loam and humus over dolomite. Mesic upland forest with Acer negundo, Acer saccharum, Fraxinus quadrangulata, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Quercus rubra, Solidago flexicaulis, Tilia americana, Ulmus americana. Flowers cream-white, raised above mostly horizontal leaves with glaucous undersides, branches olive-green - shiny; common shrub / tree 3-4 m tall, upper slopes. Steven R.
