Elevation ca. 686-738 feet. Loam and humus over
dolomite.
Mesic upland forest with Acer negundo, Acer
saccharum, Fraxinus quadrangulata, Parthenocissus
quinquefolia, Quercus rubra, Solidago flexicaulis,
Tilia americana, Ulmus americana. Flowers
cream-white, raised above mostly horizontal leaves with
glaucous undersides, branches olive-green - shiny;
common shrub / tree 3-4 m tall, upper slopes.
