Distribution
The New York Botanical Garden Plants of U.S.A. Oleaceae Fraxinus pennsylvanica Marshall var. subintegerrima (Vahl) Femald det. M. Nee, 2008 Wisconsin, Grant Co., along Hwy. 61, 6 km N of center of Fennimore, small roadside park, just S of the Co. Hwy. T turnoff. 43°02’15”N, 90°39’41”W. alt. 375 m. Broad ridgetop with rich soil, not the native habitat of Fraxinus pennsylvanica (Nee 55905-55907, 55909-55910); all of this species here are cultivated except for the saplings collected under no. 55910-, both var. pennsylvanica and var. subintegerrima are here. Seedlings in adjacent field mown only once a year or every few years, seem to be all the glabrous var. subintegerrima although var. pennsylvanica is more common in the park. Leaves much healthier than on adults in the park where it is difficult to find leaves that are not malformed. Coll.: M. Nee 55910 10 Aug. 2008 02501020
