The New York Botanical Garden Cultivated Plants of U.S.A. Oleaceae Fraxinus pennsylvanica Marshall var. pennsylvanica det. M. Nee, 2008 Wisconsin, Grant Co., along Hwy. 61, 6 km N of center of Fennimore, small roadside park, just S of the Co. Hwy. T turnoff. 43°02’15”N, 90°39’41”W. alt. 375 m. Broad ridgetop with rich soil, not the native habitat of Fraxinus pennsylvanica (Nee 55905—55907, 55909-55910)', all of this species here are cultivated except for the saplings collected under no. 55910', both var. pennsylvanica and var subintegerrima are here. Tree 12 m. tall, 30 cm. in diameter. Fruit yellow-green, hanging. Slow-growing twigs of this year 2 cm. long, all uniformly pubescent; on fast growing twigs of this year to 18 cm. long, the distal half is nearly glabrous and the terminal petioles nearly glabrous, but the twig pubescent at base.
