Habitat
Glacial boulders, humus, clay-loam soil. Mesicto wet-mesic floodplain foest, currently not able to flood [land-locked]; with Acer saccharinum, Juglans nigra, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Lindera benzoin, Ulmus americana.

Description
Occasional, somewhat local tree about 10 meters tall; fruits not seen. Green twigs with purplish linear "spots"; leaves darker above.
