Habitat
Dense scrub of the giant terrestrial bromeliad Brocchinia tatei, with scattered shrubs and small trees, many Ericaceae, vicinity of heliport on rock outcrop. Common.

Description
Shrubs 1-3 m tall, very few blooming. Petals rose-pink, forming a tube; stamens and style creamy white, the anthers and stigma more yellowish.
