Habitat
Bosque de pinos-encinos. Forest , on very steep slopes above huge cliffs, with Ericaceae dominant in some patches on steep narrow ridges. Quercus, Pinus, Alnus acuminata, arguta.

Description
Small trees, to 5m tall. Bark dull orangish, peeling on breanches and stems to 30 cm. in diameter, dull orange-brown and furrowed with age.
