Flora of the Paumonek Wetland, Long Island
Acer platanoides L.
NEW YORK, SUFFOLK CO.: Huntington Station, in the Paumonek
Wetland, west of Walt Whitman High School, along Paumonek Drive, at
the bend in the road next to curb. Medium sized tree. Common in
immediate area with many trees of varying ages. Growing in an Oak-
Hickory Mesic Woodland in a disturbed area (car tire tracks visible) with
Lamium purpureum var. purpureum, Aralia elata, Rosa multiflora,
Ailanthus altissima, Rumex, Alliaria petiolata, Galium mallugo.
