  • Habitat

    Open rocky terrain on flats and slopes near ridgecrest to southerly rocky precipice above talus. Common associates: Astragalus whitneyi, Draba densifolium Eremogene kingii, Erigeron bloomeri, Erigeron disparipilus, Eriogonum douglasii, Lomatium cous, Lupinus lepidus, Phlox multiflora, Poa secunda, Pseudoregnaria spicata, Sedum stenopetalum, Stenotus lanugionosus. Plants locally subdominant.

    Stems woody, spreading in dense clumps, flowers with limb light lavender to pinkish with contrasting darker magenta to violet throat and tube. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
