T 10 N; R 1 E; SEVS SE'/i Sect. 26. 43°18’32”N, 90°20’00’W. alt. 230 m. Spontaneous trees growing up about 30 years ago, along gully on gentle W-facing slope of agricultural fields, with some Prunus serotina and formerly Ulmus americana (all have died over time from Dutch elm disease). Tree 12 m. tall, 25 cm. in diameter. Bark shallowly furrowed, tight. Most twigs yellow-green, not glaucous; vigorous sprouts partly still glaucous on the ultimate intemodes. Male; flowers abundant; anthers tan, darker and withered after dehiscence. Same tree collected with leaves on 11 June 2011 under Nee 57966. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw, collected today; wood light-colored, with little or no differentiation of sapwood from heartwood. Coll.: M. Nee 57851 24 April 2011 02485155
