University of Idaho Herbarium Flora of East-central Idaho Acer glabrum Torr. var. glabrum [Aceraceae] NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 02483894 CLARK CO: Targhee National Forest, 3.5 miles W on FR 201 (Gallagher Canyon Rd), 11 airmiles due N of jet. of Hwy 28 and 22, elevation ca. 6970 feet. Rather dry Juniperus communis/Pseudotsuga menziesii forest with understory of Prunus virginiana. Parent material limestone. Also associated with Ribes cereum, R. lacustre, Arnica cordifolia, Thalictrum occidentale, Geum triflorum, Dodecatheon conjugens. Small tree ea. 3-4 m tall, spreading, in flower. Petals and sepals green, both sexes present although one usually reduced Bark grayish. Common in understory. Collected by: Sara Crockett 416 10 June 1996 02483894
