SW-facing slope with woods of Ulmus americana, Acer rubrum, Quercus alba, Carya ovata, Prunus serotina. Loose eh^mpj to 3.5 m. tall, to 2.5 cm. in diameter, with smaller oe&a replacing the older ones. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Staminate inflorescences for next year hanging, greenish white.
