Moist, disturbed slope (slightly N facing) just N of dirt road to East Dennis, ca % mile W of Hwy 6 at summit between Mannering Cr and Emida, T43N R3W S14 seh, elevation ca 3550'. Soil well-developed, derived from quartzite of the Belt Series. Young tree with multi stems to 7 m tall, with Acer glabrum, Rubus parviflorus, Linnaea borealis, Cornus canadensis; surrounding forest of Thuja plicata and Tsuga heterophylla with some Abies grandis.
