Growing in squishy, mucky soil in a more open area of the recharge basin; periodically inundated. With Iris pseudoacorus, Rosa multiflora, and Salix fragilis.

Large multistemmed tree to 20 ft. Older bark orange-brown and scabby; younger bark creamy and peeling in small sheets. In fruit. Population of 20 individuals. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
