Low areas in Pine River flood plain, old field
with invasion of Alnus incana (=rugosa). Acer
saccharin um.
Shrubs to 5 m. tall, 6 cm. in diameter, in loose
clumps of several stems; bark smooth, with
prominent horizontal lenticels. "Fruit" green.
