Moench IDAHO COUNTY: On Hwy 12 along Lochsa River, near Three Devils Picnic Area. Associates include Rhus radicans, Thuja plicata, Rubus sp. Populus trichocarpa, Abies grandis, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Pinus ponderosa. Lat: 46° 08.193’N Long: 115° 38.700’ W 1236 feet Voucher specimen. Choroplast DNA sequences indicate that a PsbA-TmH insertion is present. This specimen is therefore genetically indistinguishable from a member of the northern red alder clade (Bramble 2007).
