Nee, 2009 WISCONSIN, La Crosse Co., along Hwy. 53/35, 4.5 miles N of Holmen. T 18 N; R 8 W; SWVi NW'/i Sect. 24. 44°00’26”N, 91°17’11”W. alt. 220 m. Grassy, flat roadside with very sandy soil, on dry terrace of Mississippi River valley, former sandy prairie (“Amsterdam Prairie”), now with scattered trees of Populus deltoides, Ulmus pumila and a few planted Pinus strobus, Thuja occidentalis. Definitely naturalized here. Small tree, 4 m. tall, 10 cm. in diameter, abundant in many places north of La Crosse and Onalaska on the flat sandy upper terrace of the Mississippi River valley.
