Tree 10 m. tall, 85 cm. in diameter. Flowers abundant; calyx light red; anthers dark purple; stigmas greenish white. This tree visited on May 28, 1979, but had no fruit; a nearby tree with abundant fruit was collected (Nee 16751). Common in sandy floodplain forest along Wisconsin River, with Betula nigra, Fraxinus pensylvanica, Acer saccharinum, viny Rhus radicans. 2 miles WNW of LONE ROCK.
