Along park with scattered cultivated trees. hese two old Ulmus americana (Nee 52902 and 52903) have survived for many decades without contracting Dutch Elm Disease, which is present in the area, and where young trees have been dying in recent years as close as 2 blocks away.

Large tree, 1m in diameter, with large spreading crown. Three collections made from same treeL 52903a, 6 Apr 2005. Slightly farther along in anthesis than no. 52902. Calyx reddish. 52903b, 19 Apr 2005, fruit, and 52903c, 12 Jun 2005, leaves. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
