Mosholu Pkwy. N, between Bainbridge Ave. and Van Courtland Ave. E, near E. 206th St. 40°52’29”N, 73°52’54”W. alt. 35 m. Medium sized tree in parkland, perhaps spontaneous, in late blooming stage. The tree with wind damage and removed before leaf material could be collected. Tree ca. 50 cm. diameter, about 45 years old. Base of trunk buttressed. Bark with layers of white spongy material between brown layers. Bud bracts tan; calyx green at base, tan and somewhat reddish distally; anthers blackish after dehiscence. Coll.: M.
