T.24 N., R 10 E., NW 1/4 SW1/4 SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sect. 28. West side of IL Route 2, west side of Rock River, 0.1 - 0.4 mile south of Mud Creek (Mt. Morris) Road. Slopes south of Mud Creek. Elevation ca. 686-738 feet. Dolomite talus slopes on ridge, well-drained. Mesic upland forest on upper slopes; with Acer negundo, Acer saccharum, Cornus alternifolia, Fraxinus quadrangulata, Quercus muhlenbergii, Q. rubra, Solidago flexicaulis, Staphylea trifolia, Tilia americana, Ulmus americana.
